GIO/National Business Bulletin Star

of the Year - World Leader Award

Quality Heat Technologies is proud to announce their winning of the following award .

QHT was the winner of the World Leader Award and a finalist in the prestigious Business Star awards organised by the National Business Bulletin and sponsored by GIO.

The award was presented to QHT by the Minister for citizenship and Multicultural Affairs.

In July 2002 an article was published in the Business Star Awards section of the NBB, entitled "There's nothing harder, stronger or longer lasting - Melbourne based QHT has developed a process that is a world first in the low temperature heat treatment of metal surfaces".

The World Leader Award is based on a number of criteria.  The development of the unique low temperature surface treatments identified as Qab and their potential to become the next generation of low temperature surface treatments within the metal working industry was the key to QHT being awarded the winner of the World Leader Award.

The Qab process increases the surface hardness of ferrous materials by diffusing carbon nitrogen and such elements as chromium, titanium and vanadium into the surface of metal parts ranging from tools to rollers.

The Qab process have been under development for some time and the first production furnace is now installed and operational at the QHT Bayswater plant where tooling and production parts are now being processed for local industry.

In addition, samples from the USA and Europe are being processed for evaluation and testing in production conditions.
