Burner and Air Distribution System |
Introduction
The GCD curing oven and afterburner system forms part of the equipment used in the manufacture of glass fibre insulation products used in various domestic, commercial and industrial specifications.
Scope
Design, manufacture, shop test, deliver and install a curing oven and afterburner system
General Description
The curing oven is a heavy duty design for use in the manufacture of a full range of glass fibre products including high Pack Factor (PF) and is divided into seven (7) main sections, being; entry end vestibule, five (5) curing zones and exit end vestibule.
Curing Oven
The oven consists of heavy duty structural steel frame, 150mm insulated panels and doors, conveyor system consisting of lower and upper conveyor, upper conveyor bridge lift system, take up and drive system and recirculation heating system to each zone
Process Principle
|
Cured Product at Discharge |
The gap between the upper and lower conveyor is set to the required product thickness using the bridge lift system. The greenwool, uncured fibreglass with binder, enters the oven from the forming section on a continuous basis. The heated air from the recirculation system passes through the fibres of the product, curing the binder.
The conveyor has perforated flights to permit the heated air to pass from one side of a zone to the other. The product passes through the five (5) zones of the oven before leaving via the exit vestibule to the cutting and packing section of the line.
The fume produced during the curing process is discharged to two (2) afterburners, one located at the entry end of the oven and the other at the exit end of the oven to pre-treat the fume and avoid solids and liquids deposition in the ductwork prior to its entry into a Recuperative Thermal Oxidiser.
Control System
The control system utilises a centralised PLC located in the oven operators console and a series of local control panels and stations. The local control panels and stations communicate to the oven operators console using ControlNet. ControlNet is also used to link the main plant PLC and Wonderware control package to the oven system.
